Test Scores

To be admitted into the University of South Carolina, a student needs to have a score above an 1100 on the SAT and/or a score of 24 on the ACT. Seventy-five percent of admitted fall 2011 freshmen scored a 1140 or higher on the SAT or a 24 or higher on the ACT, and also earned a GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Students who complete the required 18 academic high-school courses with at least a "B" (3.00) average and earn scores as listed above are generally competitive for admission.
